Ph.d. graden er normert til 3 års fulltidsarbeid, med en opplæringsdel på 30 studiepoeng og en vitenskapelig avhandling. Den avsluttes med offentlig prøveforelesning og disputas.

The PhD-degree requires 3 year's full time work, and includes a training component of 30 ECTS and the writing of a thesis. Doctorates are awarded on the basis of a completed training component, a scientific thesis and a successful doctoral examination (public trial lecture and public defense of the thesis).
