Nordic neutron scatterers unscattered their knowledge in Oslo
Department of Biomaterials was present at the Nordic Young Neutron Scatterers meeting held at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters
The young neutron scientists in the Nordic region gathered together on Wednesday 9 November in the beautiful house of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters to share knowledge and expertise on neutron-based techniques and their possible applications in a wide rage of different research fields.
Professor Håvard Haugen from our department represented the field of biomaterials and tissue regeneration at the meeting, presenting one of our projects that employs scattering techniques to a crowd of chemists, physicist, and structural and molecular biologists. As one of the aims of this network meeting organised by our close collaborator Reidar Lund was to build bridges between different disciplines, our highly interdisciplinary research project on surface functionalisation of implant surfaces with biomimetic peptides received much interest from the roomful of neutron scientists.
