Epithelial cell biology in the oral cavity
The research focus of our interdisciplinary group is the role that oral epithelial cells play in the biology of immunology, pathology, and physiology.
The group is composed of clinicians, cell biologists, physiologists, immunologists, and pathologists.
Central areas of interest are development, differentiation, normal function, and pathological changes in oral epithelia and salivary glands. Furthermore, we examine the role that epithelial cells may play in the regulation of immune responses towards oral microbes. A summary of the projects is given below.
