Department of Biomaterials brings light to the dark days of winter by organising an exciting scientific on nano-biomaterials seminar.

The seminar raise awareness on nano-biomaterials and to create a meeting place and arena for networks amongst the scientists in Norway working with nano-biomaterials and world leading scientists in the field.

The seminar is open for all participants and we strongly encourage both users and patient of nano-biomaterials to participate to the seminar.

From 2013 - 2016, Head of the Department of Biomaterials, Professor Lyngstadaas will act as the Dean of Research at the Faculty of Dentistry.

Last week we organized the 16th  Scandinavian Society for Biomaterials (ScSB). annual conference held in the beautiful town of Røros together with Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU) . Our lab participated by presenting eight posters and two rapid-fire presentations from our esteemed members.

The first ever Biomaterials in Oslo alumni day will be organised on 24th October! the alumni day will kick-start with a lunch at the Department of Biomaterials. The lunch will be followed by a half-day seminar with talks from both the department and the returning alumni.

The alumni seminar will be held in Auditorium 2, IKO.

After a long wait, the borders opened this summer and we were able to welcome Erasmus students at our lab again. This summer, the biomaterials lab was taken over by our French summer interns.

In a new opinion paper, researchers from the Department and consortium members of the EU-funded BIOMATDB project have delved into the complex world of biocompatibility, shedding light on the challenges and proposing a comprehensive new definition that could revolutionise the field. This research, recently published in 'Trends in Biotechnology', is poised to advance biomaterials science and its applications in medicine and dentistry.

The Department is excited to announce the successful completion of the second consortium meeting for the BIOMATDB project. Hosted in the vibrant city of Barcelona, the event brought together leading experts in biomaterials from across Europe.
