The visit began with an introduction to the department's research, where the students learned about the active use of biomedical engineering in clinical research carried out at our faculty. They also learned about how the department develops methods and tools that can be used in the clinical treatment of patients at the University Clinic for Oral and Dental Health.
In addition to an introduction by Associate Professor Hanna Tiainen, the students also had the opportunity to work in the laboratory. They were tasked with conducting a laboratory experiment related to teeth whitening.
The American students received excellent guidance and supervision from Postdoctoral Researcher Daria Zaytseva-Zotova, PhD Candidate Enrique Oreja RemartÃnez, and Research Line Student Vanda Szikszai Fekete.
Visits like these contribute to strengthening international collaboration in the field of biomedical engineering.
