World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week 2024

World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week is an annual campaign aimed at raising awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and promoting best practices to combat this global health threat. From November 18 to 24, stakeholders worldwide unite to highlight strategies to reduce the spread of resistance and ensure the effective use of antimicrobials across various sectors.

This year's theme, “Educate. Advocate. Act now.”, emphasizes the urgency of education, advocacy, and immediate action in addressing AMR.

Aligned with this global initiative, the RESISFORCE project is organizing a week-long workshop in Brazil. The event brings together researchers to discuss and promote strategies against AMR in dentistry and through a One Health approach.

The One Health approach highlights the interconnection between human health, animal health, and the environment.

RESISFORCE is a multidisciplinary and international research consortium led by the University of Oslo. With participants from Norway, India, Brazil, Canada, and the USA, the project aims to enhance world-class research and education in biofilm and antimicrobial resistance, and promote awareness.

From the University of Oslo, Professor Fernanda Petersen, the leader of RESISFORCE, and postdoctoral fellow Dr. Dhariwal are participating in the event.
