Alessandra Bosc, from Technische Universität Dresden, develops hydrogels for the local delivery of bacteriophages to address biofilm-associated infections on dental implants. Dr. Clara-Maria Hermann, based at Anthogyr in France, investigates laser-structured dental abutments designed to improve soft tissue integration. Their projects address complementary aspects of peri-implant health through infection control and optimization of the tissue-implant interface.

The SHIELD Doctoral Network brings together academic and industrial partners across Europe to advance research in implant dentistry and biomaterials. Through their secondments at the University of Oslo, the visiting researchers contribute to scientific exchange and collaboration while working closely with colleagues at the Department of Biomaterials on ongoing research activities.
