Biological outcome of dental implant treatment

About the project

Oral implants have become an acceptable way of rehabilitation of reduced dentitions and the number of implants inserted is increasing, and thus reported complications associated with implant treatment must be expected.

The aims of the project:
  • To assess the prevalence of implant loss and risk indicators associated with loss of implants
  • To assess the prevalence of peri-implant disease at different diagnostic thresholds
  • To assess the influence of risk indicators related to severity of peri-implantitis
  • To assess the quality of life and patient satisfaction regarding dental implant treatment
  • To assess the outcome of peri-implantitis surgery and different protocols related to maintenance
