Protein and DNA electrophoresis

Proteins separation and identification: We can separate proteins by differences in size, and in their isoelectric point (pI), perform Western blotting as well as various forms of immunoelectrophoresis (e.g. Crossed immunoelectrophoresis, Rocket immunoelectrophoresis, Affinity immunoelectrophoresis). DNA/RNA: We have the ability to separate DNA or RNA fragments by size and reactivity using agarose (for relatively long DNA molecules) or polyacrylamide (for high resolution of short DNA molecules) gels.
