Researchers at our department tend to be the impatient kind and we just could not wait to get our hands on the machine. Therefore, we sent Hanna and Sebastian to visit Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg to get some practical training on QCM-D while we are still waiting to get our own Q-Sense E4 installed. Thanks to everyone in Martin Andersson's research group for their hospitality, particularly Mats and Emma for helping us get familiar with the QCM-D!
Hanna and Sebastian also visited Professor Pentti Tengvall at the University of Gothenburg to get some expert advice on further characterisation of our modified implant surfaces with ellipsometry. After some fruitful discussion, we did some initial test measurements and decide to send Sebastian back to Gothenburg later this summer with more samples to measure.
This very productive visit to Gothenburg would not have been possible without the travel grants Hanna and Sebastian received from Erasmus + staff mobility and the Scandinavian Society for Biomaterials, respectively.
