Higher education and employment history

Hanna graduated with a Master of Science degree in Materials Engineering from Tampere University of Technology, Finland, in 2009, specialising in biomaterials and ceramics. She received her doctorate in Biomaterials Science from University of Oslo with a PhD thesis entitled “Ceramic TiO2 scaffolds for bone repair” in 2013.

During 2013, Hanna spent four months at RMS Foundation in Switzerland working with injectable calcium phosphate cements and three months as visiting scientist at Texas Southern University in Houston investigating cell signalling pathways in microgravity in collaboration with NASA.

Hanna is currently involved in research within the fields of bone regeneration, bone scaffolds, synthetic extracellular matrix substitutes, and surface modification of biomaterials.
