Graziana's research in Oslo focused on characterising the effect of an exercise generated protein, irisin, on bone morphology and strength. Since microCT is the ideal method to reveal the three-dimensional properties of complex materials such as bone, she spent an exciting week learning more about this technique and getting some interesting results with our microCT technician Jonas.
This was already the second (and hopefully not last) time Graziana visited our lab to perform microCT imaging of her bone samples at our laboratory.
