Minh received the award for his PhD thesis titled “The dynamics of bone augmentation with a TiO2 graft material: Studies in challenging pre-clinical models”, which explores how titanium dioxide-based materials can support bone regeneration under demanding conditions. This is the third gold medal with a PhD thesis on TiO2 graft material! Minh's research represents a significant contribution to the field of biomaterials and bone augmentation, with potential implications for enhancing outcomes in dental and orthopaedic implantology.
The award committee highlighted Minh’s dedication to rigorous science and innovation, noting that in addition to his thesis work, he is the first author of another peer-reviewed publication completed before his PhD period, and co-author on several more – a testament to his productivity and research impact even as a young investigator at our department.
Adding to this already remarkable achievement, Minh also completed his European Federation of Periodontology (EFP)-accredited specialisation in periodontology on the same day — a rare and impressive double milestone. The dual accomplishments underline Minh’s unique combination of translational research skills and clinical excellence.
We warmly congratulate Minh on this exceptional recognition and look forward to following his continued contributions to science and clinical practice.
