Marco Santacroce receives the Best Research Oral Communication Award at SEPA26 in Granada

Marco Santacroce, PhD candidate in our department, has received the Best Research Oral Communication Award at SEPA26 in Granada, Spain.

SEPA26, organised by the Sociedad Española de Periodoncia y Osteointegración, is one of Europe’s major annual meetings in periodontology. This year, 25 participants from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Oslo attended the conference.

Santacroce presented his research on a peptide-enriched hyaluronic acid gel and compared its performance with Emdogain for soft tissue healing. The project combines biomaterials, periodontal regeneration, and translational research to address an important clinical question in contemporary dental research.

The Department of Biomaterials was also represented by Satar Yousefiasl, who gave an oral presentation at the conference. SEPA26 marked his first scientific conference, providing an important opportunity to present his work, engage with the European periodontology community and connect with researchers and clinicians working across the field.

The award recognises both the scientific quality of Marco's project and his ability to communicate complex findings in biomaterials, tissue response and proteomics in a clear and clinically relevant way.

The Department of Biomaterials congratulates Marco Santacroce on this well-deserved recognition and also congratulates Satar Yousefiasl on his first international conference presentation.
