From May 20th to 23rd, Freiburg became a vibrant hub for innovation in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine as it hosted the 2025 TERMIS-EU conference under the theme “Shaping the Future by Connecting Scientific Diversity.” The event attracted a diverse international audience of researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders, all unified by the goal of transforming scientific discovery into tangible clinical solutions.

Probal, a Marie Skłodowska–Curie Postdoctoral Fellow working on the MultiphaseGTR project, was proud to represent the Department. Probal delivered a poster presentation highlighting recent advances in biomaterial-guided tissue regeneration and co-chaired a well-attended technical session.

His participation reflects our department's scientific depth and collaborative spirit.

Beyond the formal programme, TERMIS-EU 2025 offered a rich setting for interdisciplinary exchange, where researchers across biomaterials, stem cell biology, gene therapy, and bioprinting shared ideas and built new connections. “It was gratifying to see how laboratory research is increasingly aligned with clinical needs and how conferences like TERMIS serve as critical bridges between these worlds,” says Probal.

Probal described the experience as deeply inspiring—both for the level of science and the opportunity to engage with fellow researchers working on the frontiers of regenerative medicine. His involvement exemplifies the Department’s ongoing commitment to mentorship, international collaboration, and active engagement in the scientific community.

As we look ahead, Probal's participation in TERMIS-EU strengthens our resolve to advance clinically relevant biomaterials research, foster scientific excellence, and remain at the forefront of shaping future therapies.
