With a background in Medical Research and Biotechnology, I intend to advance patient-focused research by bridging the gap between the bench and the bedside. Conditions affecting the nervous system are the leading cause of illness, disability and premature mortality. Throughout my academic training, my focus has been on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, borderline personality disorder and neuro-oncology. I use both wet-lab and computational approaches to answer these questions.

At present, I am analysing transcriptomic datasets from oral and brain tissues to understand the pathogenesis of glioblastoma and neuroblastoma. I will also be exploring the neurodevelopmental basis of mood disorders.

Research interests

Omic technologies, translational medicine, developmental biology, neurological and mood disorders, neuro-oncology, immunology, organoid and iPSC models, bioinformatics and data integration.
