Oral Biology

The course addresses oral and cranio-facial tissues and provides basic and advanced information about the normal state and pathologic conditions. Growth and development, morphology and physiology will be dealt with, as well as the etiology and development of the common oral diseases and dysfunctional conditions. The course in oral biology has its basis in medical science and clinical odontology. The purpose is to contribute to the comprehension of basic biologic processes and their functionality as well as biomedical and clinical perspectives on oral health.

The course consists of a series of two lectures a day. At the end of the course an exam will be arranged. The candidate is requested to write an essay on a topic agreed between the lecturer and the candidate (“home-exam”).
