Just before Easter, Rector Svein Stølen at the University of Oslo (UiO) and Rector Marcelo Knobel at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) signed a new collaboration agreement.

A hybrid version of IADR will take place in Belgium in September. Fernanda Petersen and her research group are organizing a symposium called “Let´s talk about microbiomes” during this oral health research congress.

On the 5^th of February 2019, NO-Age (The Norwegian Centre on Healthy Aging) held its first symposium discussing ageing where dean of research Linda Hildegaard Bergersen joined forces with other scientists regarding the concept of aging.

Ph.D student Anna Pawlik is from Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Faculty of Dentistry in Oslo has a cooperation agreement with this university.

Last week around 30 researchers from Brazil, the USA and the University of Oslo kicked off the international collaboration «Resispart» in the US. Lead by Fernanda Petersen from the Institute of Oral Biology, the project group is already seeing partnership, fruitful atmosphere and high expectations.  

The purpose of this International Symposium is to demonstrate the three-dimensional x-ray imaging capabilities, bringing a completely new dimension to 3D scans, and enabling a more detailed look into the 3D structure of biological tissues and tissue-material interfaces.   

Professor Fernanda Petersen at the Department of Oral Biology (UiO) has been awarded, together with her partners, a large grant from the Olav Thon Foundation. The grant was given the research project: «Born in the twilight of antibiotics: fighting antimicrobial resistance in preterm infants».

The faculty of Dentistry, University of Oslo has sent a formal request to arrange ADEEs (Association for Dental Education in Europe) annual congress in 2018.

This is one of the main venues in Europe where knowledge and experiences related to dental education in different countries can be shared.

Jostein Grytten is awarded the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) prestigious award, the Distinguished Scientist Award for Behavioral, Epidemiologic and Health Services Research.
